This story was fun to crack.
I worked with our environmental in tracking down sea life migration data and worked through different iterations of visualizing the patterns.
I also came up with different versions of the maps depending on the screen width.
The image above was for mobile viewers while small multiple images were created for desktop visitors.
I used R to scrape the data from Rutgers and the National Marine Fisheries Service and also generated visualizations pretty much exclusively in R as well.
I look forward to cleaning up the code and releasing it for others to easily create migration maps.
